Following the rejection of the bail application of the suspended Deputy Police Commissioner, Abba Kyari, the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday ordered him to remain in the NDLEA custody.
Justice Emeka Nwite, who rejected the bail request, said the prosecution (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency) had provided enough evidence before the court to warrant bail refusal.
Nwite held that the medical challenges the applicant is allegedly facing are not beyond the capacity of the NDLEA.

Granting him bail, therefore, can be a flight risk, he said.
The court also turned down the bail application of the second applicant, an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
However, the NDLEA, in counter-affidavits to the bail applications, held that it is “inappropriate to grant bail because of the facts and circumstances of the case”.
The prosecution told the court that Kyari is already facing extradition to the U.S. on charges of wire fraud to the tune of millions of dollars.
