Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, who passed away on October 18 after a prolonged battle with illness.

The actress disclosed the sad news on her social media pages, expressing grief over the loss while submitting to the will of Almighty Allah.

“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator on October 18 after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.

Describing her late mother as a cherished member of the family, Adunni said she would be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones.

She also offered prayers for her mother’s soul, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings, show her mercy and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.

“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” the actress wrote.

Adunni, who began her tribute with the Islamic expression, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” meaning “Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return,” appealed to the public to remember her late mother and the family in their prayers.

She added that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

In an emotional farewell, the actress wrote: “Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen.”
