Billionaire Femi Otedola has revealed sharing a bunk bed with Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo in Oyo State about 49 years ago.
The candid disclosure came after he hosted a dinner for the APC’s 2027 Lagos governorship candidate.
The pair attended Olivet Baptist High School, though Otedola famously left before graduating.
In his book,” Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business”, he admitted struggling academically and quitting during A-Levels at age 17 to chase business opportunities.
Otedola disclosed this on Monday on his X account, right after the honour dinner for Hamzat, whom he described as the incoming Governor of Lagos State and a man of the highest integrity.
He wrote: “Yesterday, I hosted dinner in honour of @DrObafemiHamzat, the incoming Governor of Lagos State. A man of the highest integrity, with whom I shared a bunk bed at boarding school 49 years ago.”
Applauding the deputy governor’s character, Otedola added: “My experience of his character over the years has been defined by his honesty, sincerity, fairness and strong moral principles.”
The gathering drew prominent Nigerian businessmen, including Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, highlighting the high-profile support around the APC candidate ahead of the 2027 election.
