Alleged N3bn fraud: Ex-HOS, Oyo-Ita, gets N100m bail

A temporary reprieve came for a former Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, and two others, who were hauled up before a Federal High Court, Abuja, over alleged N3 billion fraud, as they were released on bail.

Oyo-Ita was granted N100 million bail with two sureties in like sum.

The two defendants are Garba Umar and Ubong Effiok, who were aides of the former Head of Service.

The duo was granted N50 million bail each and two sureties in like sum.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had slammed 18-count charge bordering on fraud, failure to fully disclose assets and money laundering on the three and six companies.

Persecondnews reports that they all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo granted them bail following an oral application by their counsel.
