A Texas high school student, aged 15, took his own life on Monday after shooting a teacher at Hill Country College Preparatory High School.

The shooting occurred in the city of Bulverde, Comal County in the United States

Aside from the teacher and the deceased student, authorities reported no further casualties or injuries.

The student shot the teacher before turning the gun on himself, said Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds.

He added that investigators were working to understand the relationship between the student and the teacher and looking into how the firearm was obtained.

“Class would be canceled at the school on Tuesday, and counselors would be available to meet with families,” Principal Julie Wiley said in a statement.
