I won’t meddle in Funke Akindele- Toyin Abraham Rift anymore – Iyabo Ojo

Actress and producer Iyabo Ojo has declared an end to her mediation efforts in the protracted friction between colleagues Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.
Her decision follows a new round of industry tension that has once again pitted the two stars’ fan bases against one another.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Ojo addressed the public discourse surrounding her involvement.
She made it clear that she will no longer intervene in their disputes, citing the personal and emotional toll of acting as a middleman.
Ojo urged critics to respect her boundary, insisting that her days of playing mediator are over.

Setting the tone, Ojo did not mince words as she pushed back against those attacking her character, declaring that this would be the first and last time she would speak on the matter publicly.
She revealed that her relationship with Akindele spans several years, though not without its own share of misunderstandings.

In a moment of reflection, Ojo admitted she once took things too far by calling out Akindele online over a film issue involving Abraham, a move she now considers a misstep.

According to her, both she and Akindele eventually settled their differences, paving the way for her to step into the delicate role of peacemaker between the two actresses.

Ojo recounted how she went to great lengths to broker peace, describing emotional efforts that included pleading, shedding tears, and even going as far as kneeling before both parties to embrace reconciliation.

Her efforts appeared to pay off at the time, as both actresses reportedly agreed to keep any future disagreements off social media and handle issues privately, a truce that briefly restored calm and even led to public interactions between them.

However, that fragile peace was short-lived.

Ojo disclosed that tensions resurfaced in December when Abraham raised concerns about her cinema release, suggesting possible sabotage.

The claims quickly ignited speculation among fans, many of whom pointed fingers at Akindele, reigniting old wounds.

The filmmaker also shed light on behind-the-scenes drama involving her upcoming project, “The Return of Arinzo”, revealing that Abraham was initially part of the production but withdrew at the last minute due to exhaustion and travel commitments, forcing a costly rewrite of the script.

Despite the setback, Ojo said she and Abraham later resolved the issue, insisting there was no lingering bad blood between them.

But with the latest wave of controversy, Ojo has now stepped back completely, making it clear she is done trying to fix what she believes both parties must resolve on their own terms.

“The sky is big enough for all,” she noted, adding that she has done her best and will no longer beg anyone to make peace.

Her decision comes amid renewed scrutiny following a viral moment at the premiere of her film in Lagos, where Akindele appeared to ignore Abraham during a brief exchange, a clip that has since fueled fresh conversations about their strained relationship.
