The 20 medical students who were kidnapped in Benue State last week have been rescued, according to security sources.
The operation was coordinated by the National Security Adviser’s Office.
The rescue effort involved security agencies, including the police, DSS, and military personnel, along with the support of the Benue State Government.
The medical students were abducted last Thursday along the Otukpo/Otukpa/Enugu federal highway while travelling to Enugu State for the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students’ annual convention.
After their kidnapping, the IG team swiftly deployed to Otukpo in Benue State to search for the abducted students on Monday.
