A fresh twist has emerged in the lingering rift between the Okoye brothers of the now defunct music group, Psquare, as Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, made a surprising personal announcement to fans and the public.
Peter disclosed that November 18 will no longer be recognized as the date for his birthday celebrations, marking a major change in a tradition many fans have observed for years.
The singer shared the message in a public statement obtained by Persecondnews and addressed to family members, friends, and supporters, saying the decision was personal and should be respected.
“Dear Family, Friends, and Fans, I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date,” he wrote.
He further stated that he would no longer welcome goodwill messages, gifts, or public celebrations on the former date.
“Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” Peter said in the statement.
The award-winning entertainer went on to announce a new date for his annual birthday celebration, shifting it to the end of the month.
“My birthday will now be celebrated on November 30th,” he declared.
Peter also made it clear that the decision was deeply personal, while appreciating those who have continued to support him throughout the years.
“This is a personal decision, and I truly appreciate your understanding,” he added.
Persecondnews reports that Psquare, once regarded as one of Africa’s biggest music duos, has faced repeated family and business disputes in recent years, making Peter’s latest statement another development that has drawn public attention.
