The United States Mission in Nigeria has reaffirmed the country’s strong partnership with Nigeria, highlighting cooperation across security, trade, health, education and cultural exchange.

This was disclosed in a statement shared on the mission’s official X handle on Monday.

According to the mission, both countries continue to maintain enduring ties that support mutual prosperity and development.

“The United States and Nigeria share deep ties in security, trade, health, education and culture, and these people-to-people connections remain strong and vital to our shared prosperity,” the statement said.

The mission noted that collaboration between both nations remains crucial in addressing regional and global challenges, particularly in areas such as security cooperation and economic development.

It noted that the relationship extends beyond government engagement, reflecting strong connections among citizens, institutions and private sector actors.

The mission said ongoing partnerships are helping to strengthen stability, expand economic opportunities and improve social outcomes in both countries.

The reaffirmation comes as both nations continue to engage on key issues including counterterrorism, trade, education programmes and public health initiatives, with officials describing the relationship as a cornerstone of US engagement in Africa.
