APC Gov. Dapo Abiodun carries the day in Ogun governorship poll

727

Amid electoral violence, killings and ballot box snatching, Ogun Gov. Dapo Abiodun of the APC has been declared the winner of the state governorship election conducted on Saturday.
In what is considered a narrow win, Abiodun secured a second term following an announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abeokuta on Sunday.
Persecondnews reports that INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Ibadan, announced that Abiodun scored 276,298 votes to defeat his closest rival and PDP candidate, Mr Oladipupo Adebutu, who polled 262383 votes.
