Four teenage ritualists, who beheaded a girl, sent to prison in Ogun

The four teenage ritualists who butchered a teenage girl, Sofiat Okeowo, for money rituals are now cooling their heels in prison in Ogun State.

 

They are Balogun Mustakeem, 20, Majekodunmi Soliudeen, 18, Abdulgafa Lukman, 19, and Waris Oladeinde, 18.

 

Persecondnews had reported that the police on Saturday, January 29, 2022 apprehended the youths including the girl’s boyfriend while roasting her head after killing her in an uncompleted building in Kugba area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

 

An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court gave the order for their remand in prison following their arraignment on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.

 

Magistrate I. O Abudu who refused to take the plea of the defendants, ordered that they be remanded in Oba Correctional Centre (prison) pending legal advice from Ogun State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

 

She has adjourned the case until March 14 for mention.

 

Earlier, Police Prosecutor Lawrence Balogun, had told the court that the teenagers committed the offences on Jan. 28 at11:00pm at Kugba area in Abeokuta.

 

According to lnsp. Balogun, the defendants conspired and murdered  Sofiat, a girl friend to one of the defendants, Soliudeen.

 

The defendants killed her by cutting off her head with a cutlass. They murdered sofiat in order to use her for money rituals.

 

The offences contravened Sections 316 and 324 of the Criminal Laws of Ogun 2006.
