Fire from a multiple tanker explosion in the wee-hours of Sunday has engulfed the Ojodu-Berger bridge at Lagos-Ogun State boundary.
The four tankers involved in the accident have been consumed causing a gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Persecondnews reports that officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Police, Lagos State Fire Service and LASTMA were on ground to put out the smouldering fire which has been burning for hours.
They were also trying to divert traffic to the outbound lane to ease vehicular movement.
At least one person was reported dead while several people were injured in the accident which was preceded by thunderous, loud bangs.
The defeaning explosion had woken up residents of the two states on Sunday.
The wreckage of the tankers are still being cleared by earth-moving equipment and high capacity tow vehicles as at the time of reporting the accident.
