Lawsuits continue to pile up challenging the fitness of ailing president Muhammadu Buhari to continue as president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
A suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/671/2017, filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, asked for an order compelling the Federal Executive Council to declare Buhari unfit to continue to hold office.
Last month a US based Nigerian Toyin Dawodu, filed a suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/508/2017, asking the court to compel Saraki to constitute a medical panel on Buhari’s health status.
Joined as respondents to the fresh suit are the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, the Executive Council of the Federation (otherwise known as the Federal Executive Council), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), and the National Assembly.
Buhari, 74, was last seen, on state television, welcoming a group of 82 girls released by militant group Boko Haram, just hours before he flew to Britain over two months ago.
Aisha wife of the president gave Nigerians a cheering news recently after her visit to the president “My husband is recovering very fast. And very soon, he will return to the country to resume his official duties,” she said.
“I thank Nigerians for their prayers for my husband. Please, do not relent in your prayers.”
