Dele Odule Opens Up on Viral Post, Says No One Served Me Breakfast

Veteran actor Dele Odule has finally reacted to the trending post that sparked online speculations about him being heartbroken by a younger woman.

The respected thespian, who has enjoyed decades of success in the Nigerian film industry, said the viral interpretation of his social media post was entirely wrong and blown out of proportion.

Amid a flurry of online gossip, Odule’s post had suggested that he suffered a heartbreak from a young lady whose identity was yet to be confirmed.

Many fans and blogs quickly jumped on the narrative, linking it to a supposed relationship gone sour.

However, in an exclusive interview with Per Second News, the seasoned actor dismissed the claims, insisting that his post had no romantic undertone and was simply taken out of context.

“People just like to take everything you say out of context,” Odule said.

“I am not sure anyone at this age and time would serve me breakfast or whatever anybody calls it these days.”

The actor, who has built a reputation for his calmness and maturity, noted that he was too experienced in life and love to be caught in such situations.

He stressed that people should learn to verify information before running with assumptions.

“I am a man who believes in love,” he said firmly. “But I am not someone who gives up on love, even when things go bad between you and your partner.

“And certainly, I am not someone who would come on social media to discuss such sensitive matters,” he told Persecondnews.

He added that the speculation only revealed how eager people were to attach drama to everything public figures say online.

“Sometimes, people just want something to talk about,” he said. “And when you’re in the public eye, even a harmless post can become headline news.”

Despite the buzz, Odule maintained a lighthearted tone, saying he was rather amused by how far the story travelled.

“I’m happy people are talking about me, not for the wrong reasons, but because I still have my name on their lips. However, this has nothing to do with love or heartbreak,” he clarified.

The veteran actor, who has remained relevant in Nollywood for over three decades, said his focus right now is on his career and the satisfaction it brings him.

“I am indeed enjoying my career at the moment,” he said.

“Nothing comes close to the excitement and fulfilment that come with doing what you love.”

Odule revealed that the industry has been kinder to him in recent years, both in recognition and in financial reward.

“I make more money now than I made some years back,” he disclosed.

“The craft pays me more now, and I can tell you I’m one of the most sought-after actors in my category and age.”

He explained that his longevity in the industry was a result of discipline, consistency, and staying true to his values.

“I never allowed fame to distract me,” he said. “You must know who you are and what you stand for, that’s what keeps you relevant.”

The actor also expressed gratitude to producers and directors who still find him worthy of major roles, saying he takes pride in mentoring younger talents coming behind him.

“It’s a joy seeing young actors grow and respect the path we laid,” he said. “That’s the beauty of continuity in this business.”

On what keeps him motivated after decades on screen, Odule said his passion for storytelling remains undiminished.

“As long as I can still stand before the camera and interpret roles, I’ll keep doing this. Acting is not just my career, it’s my calling,” he added.

Odule, who has starred in several classics across stage and film, continues to be regarded as one of the pillars of Yoruba cinema.

For him, the recent social media noise is just another reminder that fame comes with its own share of drama but he remains unbothered.

“I’ve been around too long to be moved by gossip,” he said with a laugh.

“I’m focused on what matters, my work, my peace, and the joy that comes with being relevant after all these years.”
