Nigerian music queen, Tiwa Savage, has finally addressed lingering speculations surrounding her rumoured fallout with fellow superstar, Davido.
In a new video interview monitored by Persecondnews, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner spoke about their relationship, describing the entire episode as a misunderstanding rather than a deep-seated rift.
According to Tiwa, she has nothing but love and respect for Davido, whom she described as a brother in the industry.
She stressed that contrary to the noise on social media, she would never do anything to hurt or betray him.
“I love Davido, he is my brother. I will never betray him,” she said.
The singer explained that her decision to involve the police at some point was not out of malice but as a precautionary step.
She revealed that she initially attempted to resolve the matter quietly by reaching out to older members of Davido’s family, but when that approach yielded no result, she opted for a more official channel.
“There was no bad blood,” Tiwa clarified, adding “It was just a miscommunication that was blown out of proportion. People made it seem like we were enemies, but that’s not the case. I still see him as my brother.”
Her remarks come after weeks of heated conversations on social media, where fans of both stars traded words, intensifying the perception of a feud.
The new revelations appear to have calmed the storm, reassuring both fan bases that the industry heavyweights remain on cordial terms.
In the same conversation, Savage also touched on one of the most difficult moments in her career, the infamous leaked sex tape that shook the entertainment scene a few years ago.
The singer admitted that the incident left her broken and vulnerable, especially because of the public narrative that she had released the tape herself to chase relevance.
“It really got to me that people thought I posted that video just to trend,” Tiwa said with visible emotion.
“I was really down and felt so bad because that wasn’t something I planned for. It wasn’t a publicity stunt. It was a painful experience.”
The Afrobeats diva explained that the period was one of the darkest phases of her life, as she struggled to balance her image as a global star with her reality as a human being going through shame and public scrutiny.
She revealed that she leaned on her close friends and family to get through the trauma, adding that without their support, the episode could have broken her completely.

“I am human. I make mistakes, and things happen to me that I don’t control. But the way people twisted that story really hurt me,” she added.
