Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has described his former boss, the late President Muhammadu Buhari, as a true patriot whose life exemplified discipline, honesty, and a profound dedication to national service.

Reacting to the news of Buhari’s passing on Sunday, Osinbajo released a statement, personally signed by him, expressing that he and his wife, Dolapo, were deeply saddened by the loss.

“Dolapo and I received, with profound sadness, the news of the passing of His Excellency, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon,” he said.

He revealed that they had spoken with Buhari’s wife, Aisha, and son, Yusuf, to express their condolences and solidarity with the family.

“Nigeria has lost a true patriot—a man whose life was marked by unyielding devotion to the nation he loved. President Buhari’s legacy will endure as a testament to the nobility of public service, defined by honesty, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to the public good,” Osinbajo stated.

He prayed to God for comfort for the Buhari family and all Nigerians mourning the former leader.

Persecondnews recalls that Buhari served as Nigeria’s President from 2015 to 2023, with Osinbajo as the Vice President for the two terms of eight years.
