The premiere of Odunlade Adekola’s Orisa movie witnessed the presence of popular faces in the Yoruba speaking movie industry days back and equally reunited with many of them who haven’t seen one another for a long time.

The movie premiere which took place on July 16 at the Circle Mall in Jakande, Lekki, saw numerous celebrities grace the red carpet in their Aso Oke attires, as they took turns for pictures and shared a few jokes.

But one moment that many people would not forget in a hurry, was how Toyin Abraham aimed a dig at her ex- husband, Adeniyi Johnson, at the event.

Abraham walked in when some of her colleagues had been seated as she made way to the stairs to pay what she described as homage to her ‘senior’ colleagues in the industry.

Per Second News observed that as Toyin walked up to Muiwa Ademola, who was seated next to Femi Adebayo and another popular producer and actor, Itele D Icon and exchanged pleasantries with them, seated next to Itele was Adeniyi, who tried to avoid having any eye contact with his ex, Toyin.

Toyin who appeared to have read Adeniyi’s body language and decided to call him out among the crowd, saying “Niyi, you are pretending not to see me or you don’t want to greet me,” she asked jokingly.

Adeniyi returned the gesture, saying “Aunty Toyin, well done ma. I am greeting you, you probably didn’t hear when I greeted.”

It will be recalled that Toyin and Adenyi dated for about five years before they went on their separate ways over infidelity claims.

Other well-known personalities such as Itele, Sanyeri, Mr. Macaroni, Kie Kie, Bimbo Thomas, Jaiye Kuti, Jide Awobona, Laide Bakare, and many more also graced the occasion. The event, celebrating the release of his latest film “Orisa,” was a grand affair that showcased the richness of Yoruba culture.

In the aftermath of the premiere, Odunlade took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude to all the filmmakers who lent their support.

He attributed the success of the event to their presence and their creative contributions to the film, “Orisa.”
