Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has selected a 25-player squad, featuring Al Hilal forward and captain Asisat Oshoala, Paris Saint-Germain’s Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie of Brighton & Hove Albion for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.

The squad list was shared on the team’s official X handle on Friday, giving full clarity on the group chosen to represent Nigeria at the continental showpiece.

The selection reflects a deliberate mix of seasoned campaigners and fresh prospects, with defender Michelle Alozie returning to the fold and veteran forward Francisca Ordega adding proven firepower and leadership in attack.

Defender Ashleigh Plumptre was the most notable absentee from the final roster, leaving her out of the trip to Morocco despite her prior experience with the team.

Nigeria remains the most successful nation in African women’s football, having lifted the trophy in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2024, and the latest squad carries the weight of extending that unmatched record when the tournament begins in Morocco.

The goalkeeping unit is covered by Chiamaka Nnadozie, Comfort Erhabor and Fatima Oloko, while the defensive line is built around Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie, Rofiat Imuran, Shukurat Oladipo and Glory Ogbonna.

Midfield control rests with Deborah Abiodun, Sikiratu Isah, Christy Ucheibe, Halimatu Ayinde, Rasheedat Ajibade, Jennifer Echegini and Antoinette Payne.

Supported by an attacking group that includes Folashade Ijamilusi, Esther Okoronkwo, Joy Omewa, Asisat Oshoala, Chinwendu Ihezuo, Omorinsola Babajide, Francisca Ordega, Gift Monday and Uchenna Kanu.
