Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, has set social media abuzz after celebrating what he described as a historic milestone for the Nigerian film industry.
The actor announced that his movie Koleoso has crossed the 100 million views mark on YouTube, a feat he says has never been achieved before by a single Nollywood title on the platform.
According to Itele, the record also positions Koleoso as the first African movie to hit such numbers as one standalone title.
Sharing the news via his Instagram page, the visibly excited actor did not mince words as he laid claim to the achievement, stressing that the milestone was the result of years of hard work, consistency, and creative discipline.
Describing the moment as one for the history books, Itele stated that Koleoso represents “one title, one story, one movement,” insisting that the numbers speak for themselves and should not be downplayed or dismissed.
In a tone that blended pride with defiance, the actor declared himself the first filmmaker in Nollywood to pull off such a feat, urging critics and observers alike not to deny him his “flowers” while he is still alive to receive them.
Itele went on to acknowledge the collective effort behind the success of the film, expressing gratitude to his production team, cast, and crew, whom he described as central to the journey from concept to record-breaking release.
Beyond the professional circle, the actor also paid tribute to his family and loyal fan base, crediting what he called the “Koleoso family” for standing by the project and driving its massive online traction.
He framed the achievement not just as a personal victory, but as a broader cultural win, saying it represents progress for Nollywood, African cinema, Yoruba storytelling, and Nigeria’s creative industry as a whole.
“This is loud. This is magical. This is golden,” Itele said.
