The PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon is just six days away, and excitement is building with the announcement of a special reward package for the Student Race Category.
A statement on Monday by Kola Daniel Special Assistant on Media to the DG National Sport Commission, said: “Competing students will have the chance to win substantial cash prizes, with a total of over ₦2 million up for grabs.”
“Long-distance races have steadily become a source of economic growth for the nation,” said Yetunde Olopade, Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited (NSML).

The student category rewards are structured as follows: 1st Place: ₦1,000,000, 2nd Place: ₦500,000, 3rd Place: ₦300,000, 4th Place: ₦200,000, and 5th Place: ₦100,000.
This initiative highlights the marathon’s commitment to youth empowerment and sports development, providing motivation and financial encouragement to young runners.
The Abuja City International Half Marathon has received official approval from World Athletics, solidifying its reputation as one of Africa’s emerging elite road races.
