Elated actress Laide Bakare has described her appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Entertainment, Arts, Culture, and Tourism as a step in the right direction for her political career.

The actress, who was appointed by the governor on February 22, reacted in a telephone call with Per Second News on Friday, saying the feeling is surreal and she couldn’t wait to get into her office and bring about change to the entertainment business in the state.

Speaking to Per Second News in an exclusive interview, Bakare expressed her excitement, describing the opportunity as surreal and emphasizing her eagerness to effect positive change within the entertainment industry in Osun State.

Highlighting the rich tapestry of talents that Osun State boasts, Bakare underscored the need to harness and showcase the abundance of creative individuals within the region.

With renowned figures such as Davido emerging from Osun, Bakare believes it is time to amplify the state’s cultural footprint and shine a spotlight on its artistic treasures.

“This appointment is a testament to the governor’s commitment to fostering growth and development within the entertainment sector,” Bakare remarked.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility and am determined to leverage my expertise and passion to propel Osun State to new heights on the cultural stage.”

For Bakare, this appointment represents not only a professional milestone but also a significant milestone in her political journey.

Working closely with Governor Adeleke, she aims to champion initiatives that not only celebrate the rich heritage of Osun State but also provide tangible opportunities for emerging talents to thrive.
