Tinubu names Gbenga Alade as AMCON MD/CEO

President Bola Tinubu has appointed a new management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), with Mr. Gbenga Alade as the Managing Director/CEO.

Others are Mr. Aminu Ismail (Executive Director), Adeshola Lamidi (Executive Director) and Lucky Adaghe (Executive Director).

The names have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

Also approved to serve in agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy are Abraham Oshadami, Executive Commissioner, Technical Services; Rimini Makama, Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management; and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi, President/CEO, Digital Bridge Institute.

Appointments made under the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) are Abiodun Attah, Executive Director, Technical Services; Aisha Abdullahi, Executive Director, Finance & Administration; and Jaiyeola Awokoya, Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development.

Under Galaxy Backbone (BB) Limited, appointments include Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO; Mohammed Sani Ibrahim, Executive Director, Finance & Corporate Services; Olusegun Olulade, Executive Director, Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe, Executive Director, Digital Exploration & Technical Services.

A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said the president expected “unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent, and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.”

He said that with the reconstitution of the management teams in these agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Tinubu also anticipated that the seasoned professionals would deliver excellent service to elevate the impact of the digital economy sector on the socio-economic development of the nation.
