Prof. Christianah Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC), has exited office.
In her place, Dr Monica Eimunjeze, a director in the agency, has been appointed DG in acting capacity.
Persecondnews recalls that Adeyeye, a pharmacist, was appointed into the office on November 3, 2017 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Adeyeye has since commenced her retirement leave.
A memo dated November 17, 2022 confirmed Eimunjeze’s appointment and stated that it took effect from November 12.
“The management is in receipt of a letter appointing Dr. Monica Eimunjeze as the acting director-general of NAFDAC with effect from 12th November 2022,” the memo said.
Eimunjeze was the Director of Registration and Regulatory Affairs, the Director of Drug Evaluation and Research in the agency and had served as the Technical Assistant to the Director-General of NAFDAC.
Eimunjeze obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy in 1986 from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and a Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from Mercer University, Georgia, USA.
