Famous Yoruba actor and movie producer, Femi Adebayo, has spoken about the big moves being made by him and other prominent actors in the Yoruba movies to reclaim the number one spot they were noted for in movie-making and storytelling industry.
With Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo doing the right numbers at the cinemas and standing a chance of winning the OSCARS, Adebayo maintained that his latest work, “Ageshinkole” is just one of the several other projects that will shake the movie industry to its roots.
According to Adebayo, who is the son of veteran actor, Adebayo Salami, otherwise known as Oga Bello, it is time for Yoruba movie producers to raise their game and reclaim its number one position in the movie-making business in the industry.
He spoke against the backdrop of mounting criticisms trailing some of the Yoruba speaking movies which many people believe have not been meeting fans’ expectations in the last few years.
Speaking with Per Seconds News on the project he is working on, Adebayo urged his fans to keep supporting his brand, adding that from #Ageshinkole to another massive project, the projects lined up would wow many movie enthusiasts.
“I can tell you that we are back. Yoruba movie industry is back on the beat. We are not joking at all. Over 300 “conventional” actors are on the set creating something far different from the “usual”.
“Let’s just keep up the big work. Something bigger and better is coming, “he said.
