Ogun footballer’s death: I-G disbands zonal SARS offices in Ogun

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Muhammed Adamu, has announced the immediate disbandment of the Zonal Intervention Squad of Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS), Obada-Oko, near Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The action followed the death of a player of Remo Stars Football Club, Tiyamiyu Kazeem, allegedly caused by operatives of  zonal SARS, Obada-Oko.

Kazeem was until his death, the vice-captain of the club in Sagamu.

The Deputy Inspector General in charge of Criminal Investigations Department at the Force Headquarters, Mr Peter Ogunyonwo, gave the order when he accompanied the Ogun State Governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun, on a condolence visit to the parents of the deceased in Sagamu.

Ogunyonwo directed that the zonal office should be handed over to the Ogun State Police Command.

PerSecondNews recalls that the footballer was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle after he was allegedly thrown out of a moving vehicle of SARS on the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway on Saturday.
