For allegedly bolting with his employer’s Toyota Highlander worth N2.6 million,
39-year-old driver, Suleiman Tony, has been caught and brought to justice in Lagos.
He is facing charges at a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court on Lagos Island.
A resident of 22, Samora St., Ketu, a Lagos suburb, Tony has denied the charges of conspiracy and theft brought against him by the police.
But Police Inspector Ajaga Agboko, prosecuting, insisted that the accused committed the offences on Jan. 3, at 2:30 p.m. at Surulere, Lagos.
According to him, he conspired with others still on the run to steal the jeep belonging to Mr Bashir Mobereje, his boss.
Mobere je had gone for a medical check up at the health facility in Surulere and the driver immediately zoomed off.

“Tony, who was supposed to come back and take his boss home, ran away with the vehicle with registration number KSF 01 FU.
“All efforts to reach the defendant yielded no results as his phone could not be reached.
“The vehicle was later traced to 29, Murtala Muhammed Way, Ikoyi, Lagos, with the use of a tracking device on the vehicle,” the prosecutor said.
The offences violate Sections 287 (7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
For his bail, Magistrate T. A. Anjorin-Ajose, granted him N500,000 with one surety.
Feb. 7 has been fixed for hearing of the case.
