… Wife, son survive dagger attack

A disastrous event has occurred in Ede in Southwest Osun State as a soldier, who allegedly suffers psychiatric order, wasted the lives of a colleague and a woman, who sells vegetables.

The blood-thirsty soldier of lower rank, Olodi Blessed of the Army Engineering Company, Ede, also stabbed his wife and son while he flew into a rage.

According to witnesses, the soldier who was scheduled to attend a course on his return from the Boko Haram war zone of the Northeast, suddenly showed up at his original unit at Ede, pulled a dagger and stabbed the victims to death at about 10.00 pm.

“The man stabbed his wife, son with a knife as well as his female neighbour.

“He later stabbed another soldier simply identified as Peter Afolayan, who attempted to wrestle the knife from him,’’ a resident in the barrack area said.

Persecondnews learnt that the mad soldier was overpowered and apprehended by a group of butchers that night near barrack junction.

“The incident was unfortunate, we heard that the soldier suffered mental illness and the illness relapse at night; he was stabbing people and unfortunately, two of his victims including Iya Ijesa and a soldier died,’’ another resident of Ede said.

The Army spokesman in the state, Col. Sagir Musa has yet to react to the bloody one-man attack.
