Ndoma-Egba Preaches Love, Unity At Eid-el-Fitri

1.4k

The Chairman of the Governing Board and Management of Niger Delta Development Commission, Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN has enjoined Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to demonstrate greater commitment to the ideals of our forebears, that of love for mankind and firmer commitment to peaceful coexistence.

In his Eid-el-Fitr message to mark the end of Ramadan, Ndoma-Egba urged Muslims to imbibe the lessons of the fast, which include: self discipline and sacrifice through abstinence from eating, drinking and sinful acts, even as he also urged all to extend the lessons of the period of fasting beyond Ramadan.

The NDDC Chairman noted that love is the prerequisite for unity and oneness of Nigeria at this critical time in the nation’s history.

“This season should go a long way in creating empathy amongst all of us, we must also identify with those who are starving, sick and homeless among us and use this period as an avenue to help one another, as government work to cause a change in the current status quo, Ndoma-Egba said.

He further saluted the cerebral efforts of the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), in the way and manner he has piloted the affairs of the country, even as he urged all to continue to pray for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari who is receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

While lending his voice to Nigeria’s current challenges, the NDDC boss charged all to be good ambassadors of their faith by demonstrating the spirit of tolerance, love, respect for others and firmer commitment to peaceful coexistence; a virtue taught by all religions, while adding that Nigeria’s diversity should be translated into love, and religion should be a vehicle for cementing values.
