As part of efforts to provide succor and the much-needed support to the needy and the vulnerable, a senior official of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has donated various food items and cash gifts to some Ajegunle residents of Lagos.

Mr. Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, gave the food items and cash gifts to widows and vulnerable individuals in the community on Saturday.

More than 150 widows got 10 kg of rice each with other items such as sugar, salt, olive oil for cooking and grains, Persecondnews reports.

Soneye also gave out detergents and other items.

Soneye, who will turn 50 on October 29, said the gesture was his way of celebrating the milestone by giving back to the vulnerable in society.

“We should comfort one another especially the needy and the vulnerable in society by providing support for them.

“We should show love, care, and concern just as God shows us love in our own little ways always. It is gratifying to give in appreciation to God,” he said.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, expressed appreciation to the donor with many offering heartfelt prayers for the gifts.
