Nigerian singer, Korede Bello, may have been out of the limelight for sometime, but the Godwin crooner says life has been fair to him.

In a recent interview monitored by Per Second News, Bello opened up about his journey, revealing that he has been focussing on his personal growth and well-being.

“Life has been fair,” Bello said. “I think sometimes fair is better than good because good is relative.”

Bello started his music career at a young age and signed with Mavin Records in 2014.

He quickly gained popularity with his hit single “Godwin,” which became a chart-topper in Nigeria and beyond.

However, after a few years with Mavin Records, Bello decided to take a break from music to focus on his personal growth and development.

He explained: “I needed to do some introspection, understand myself, understand the meaning of life, reconnect with my purpose.”

During his time away from music, Bello focused on his spiritual growth and development.

He said: “It was a wellness journey for me, just like feeling myself, getting back to my purpose, and feeling my essence.”

Bello also used the time to explore other passions and interests outside of music.

He said: “I’ve always been interested in fashion, so I started exploring that aspect of my creativity.”

Despite being away from the music scene, Bello maintained a good relationship with his former record label, Mavin Records, and its founder, Don Jazzy.

He said, “My journey has been orchestrated by God, and that’s the only person I depend on for my sustenance.”

Bello and Don Jazzy have remained close friends and collaborators, with Bello featuring Don Jazzy on his recent single “Minding My Business.”

“We still keep in touch, talk, play games, talk about the industry,” he added.

The collaboration between Bello and Don Jazzy on “Minding My Business” is a reflection of their current reality and friendship.

Bello also said: “That’s why we made that song—to reflect our reality and my reality.”

Regarding his music career, Bello believes that today’s music is different from the past.

He noted: “When you hear songs like ‘Godwin’, ‘Adaobi’, ‘Dorobucci’, ‘Catapult’, they talk more than just about the artist.”

Bello’s music style has evolved over the years, and he has explored various genres, including Afrobeats, pop, and R&B.

He said: “I’m always looking to push the boundaries and try new things.”

In addition to his music, Bello is also passionate about giving back to his community.

He has been involved in various charity initiatives and has used his platform to raise awareness for social causes.

Bello’s fans have been eagerly awaiting his return to music, and he has promised to deliver new content soon.

He teased:”I’ve been working on some new music, and I’m excited to share it with my fans.”

The singer has also been open about his struggles with mental health and the importance of self-care.

He advised: “Take care of your mental health, take care of your physical health, take care of your spiritual health.”

Bello’s journey has not been without challenges, but he remains grateful for the opportunities he has had. He said, “I’m grateful for the platform I have, and I’m grateful for the people who have supported me along the way.”

As Bello looks to the future, he is excited to continue making music and inspiring his fans.

“I’m just getting started, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Bello also spoke about his album “Korede”, which he describes as a “therapy session.”

He said the album was like a therapy session for me, where he responded to questions and shared his story.

He also mentioned that his song “Minding My Business” is a reflection of his reality and his friendship with Don Jazzy.

He said: “We made that song to reflect our reality and my reality.”

Bello’s music has been influenced by various genres, including Afrobeats, pop, and R&B.

“I’m always looking to push the boundaries and try new things. I’m not afraid to experiment and try new sounds.”

In addition to his music, Bello is also passionate about fashion, saying he has been involved in various fashion projects and has used his platform to promote African fashion.
