Just In: Pres. Tinubu, Labour Leaders In Closed-Door Meeting Over Minimum Wage

President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the organized labour in the country are currently in a closed-door meeting over a new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

According to Persecondnews, Com. Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and Com. Festus Osifo, his counterpart at the Trade Union Congress (TUC), arrived at the State House in Abuja on Thursday afternoon for the meeting.

The Federal Government’s crisis and Labour’s inability to reach a compromise over a new minimum wage are likely to dominate the meeting.

Tinubu is also expected to decide on the N62,000 proposal of the government and private sector sides, as well as the N250,000 demand of organized labour.
