The Federal Government has unveiled 65 investment opportunities across major sectors of the economy, seeking to unlock fresh capital, create jobs and accelerate Nigeria’s economic growth to 7 per cent by 2027/28.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, disclosed this during an investment engagement, outlining the government’s push to translate economic reforms into infrastructure development and sustained growth.

The investment drive covers oil and gas, power, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, technology and healthcare, among other sectors.

Special Adviser on Economic Strategy, Idris Bello Osagie, said the government had established a Deal Room to connect investors with the 65 projects and facilitate investment.

Speaking on the impact of ongoing reforms, Special Adviser on Macroeconomic Policy, Prof. Bright Eregha, said Nigeria’s domestic capital market had grown from less than ₦30 trillion in May 2023 to over ₦160 trillion, while inflation was trending downward.

Eregha said the economy expanded by 4.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, adding that the next phase of reforms would prioritise investments capable of raising productivity and reducing poverty.

For businesses and households, the government identified agriculture, electricity supply, inflation, regulatory efficiency and access to reliable economic data as critical areas requiring further attention.

Oyedele said these priorities would shape the next phase of the reform programme as the government pursued stronger growth and job creation.

Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy Governor for Economic Policy, Philip Ikeazor, attributed moderating inflation and improved economic resilience to monetary policy measures, foreign exchange reforms and closer coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities.

CBN Governor Yemi Cardoso also said the reforms were helping to restore investor confidence and strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to withstand global economic shocks.

The officials urged domestic and foreign investors to seize the opportunities, stressing that increased investment would be crucial to achieving the growth target and delivering more jobs.
