Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State and FCT Minister, has again opened up on the current, unresolved rift between him and his successor, Gov. Sim Fubara.

The minister, who spoke on Friday at a media parley on the crisis, referred to Fubara as an ingrate.

“Did he (Fubara) buy form (nomination form). I did not sit down with anybody to nominate him.

“God gave this (power) on a platter of gold, no crisis. The federal government is not fighting you, nobody at home is fighting you. You are the one trying to create a crisis for yourself.

“What kind of system is that? Who does that? Only ingrates that (it) is in their blood that will support what is happening there (in Rivers). Only those who are natural ingrate,” Wike said.

Persecondnews reports that in spite of President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the political crisis which resulted in the burning down of a section of the State House of Assembly recently, Wike’s interview is a confirmation that all is still not well between the “godfather” and the “godson” and there are speculations that the political crisis is far from being resolved.

He added: “Let me tell you, I don’t like ingrates; I can’t stand it. What is happening now is what Odili said in his book ‘give a man power and money, then you will know the person.’

“If you haven’t given a man, power and money then you don’t know the person. However, I’m not worried because I’m a politician. I know what other states are suffering because of debt, but go and check if I had liabilities, the records are there.

“I left projects for him to commission so he would showcase during his hundred days, then politics came in. We are just starting; God gave you something; you are now importing crisis.”

On his political structure in Rivers, Wike boasted:” Nobody can take away the political structure in Rivers. Nobody can intimidate me.”

Also commenting on the plot by him to impeach the governor, he said: “27 out of 31 lawmakers don’t like you (Fubara). What are you going to do?

“If I want to do something, I will do it. The impeachment is not a military coup, it is provided under the Constitution.”

Before Wike got him elected as his “anointed candidate”, Amaopusenibo Siminalayi “Sim” Joseph Fubara had served as the State Accountant General under his administration.
