Nigerian music sensation, Davido, has responded to accusations from former Nigeria Football Federation’s President, Amaju Pinnick, who alleged that the artist refused to perform at the highly-anticipated “Warri Again Show” in Delta State.
Pinnick claimed that despite receiving a substantial payment of $94,000 from the event organizers, Davido failed to appear at the scheduled performance.
But in a swift response, Davido took to “X” (Twitter) to address the allegations and assert his commitment to performing in Warri.
He stated unequivocally that no one can prevent him from showcasing his talents in the city.
While refusing to delve into the specifics of his dealings with NFF officials, Davido affirmed his intention to maintain his artistic freedom.
He also mentioned that if any reimbursement was required, it would be directed towards a football charity organization.
In his tweet, Davido declared: “I will be performing at Warri this December, and there is nobody that can stop me. Warri people hate you (Pinnick). You are a dream crusher. You know how many people who have had their dreams crushed because one person wants to live in Ikoyi by force.”
The exchange between Davido and Pinnick has generated significant public attention with fans and observers closely watching for further developments in the ongoing dispute.
The controversy surrounding the “Warri Again Show” performance has left many intrigued about the future of events involving both the music industry and sports in Nigeria.
