Ministerial appointment hopeful, Nasir El-Rufai’s dream of joining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet has been shattered.
This is because El Rufai has communicated his intentions to “step aside” to the President at a meeting on Tuesday, but promised to contribute to the administration of Tinubu as a private citizen.
El Rufai has, therefore, suggested a former commissioner in his cabinet as the governor, Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, as replacement.
The President will any moment from now forward Sani’s CV and other vital information about him to the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Senate for screening and confirmation.
Persecondnews had reported exclusively that the immediate past governor of Kaduna State was having some “serious issues” with top Tinubu’s men and was contemplating giving up the offer.
In confirming Persecondnews’ story, El Rufai had told the President that he “needed time to focus on his Doctorate degree program at a university in the Netherlands,” a source disclosed.
