Rema has set another achievement on Youtube, thanks to ‘Calm Down,’ becoming the most-viewed Afrobeats music video on YouTube.

The song was made available on February 11, 2022, as one of the lead singles from Rema’s debut album, “Raves & Roses.”

The song has had tremendous popularity on a global scale since its release, and it gained even more with the remix featuring Selena Gomez.

The Afrobeats song, “Calm Down”, became the quickest to gain 100 million views, doing so in less than three months.

Following the Selena Gomez remix, which saw the song peak at No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100, the song also earned accolades from other countries.

Weeks after the video exceeded the 300 million views mark, the video has set a new record as the most watched Nigerian music video on YouTube after it overtook CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti‘.

On Sunday, January 29, 2023, a leading music chart publication, TurnTable Charts, broke the news, saying that the new Afrobeats record was achieved by the song “Calm Down,” which edged out “Love Nwantiti” by almost 23,000 views.

Rema reacting to the news, he took to Twitter to thank fans for the achievement.
