Fatal Kaduna train attack: Deceased female medical doctor was to relocate abroad April 1, says friend

The female medical doctor, Chinelo Megafu Nwando, whose life was cut short during March 28 terrorists attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train,  resigned from her job in February preparatory to relocating abroad on April 1, Persecondnews gathered.

The medical doctor had twitted before she gave up the ghost: “I’m in the train. I have been shot please pray for me after she sustained a gunshot injury during the attack.’’

Dr. Chinelo, a Dental Surgeon, graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State in 2016.

Reacting to her demise, one of her friends via her Twitter handle wrote: “Dr Chinelo was making an honest living. She was working at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna, she wanted more for herself and processed her papers to leave this hell-hole.

“She resigned last month to leave the country this Friday then this happened. Nigeria why???”

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has confirmed the death of Chinelo.

In a condolence message signed by Dr Aisha Mustapha, Secretary of the branch, the association prayed for the repose of the soul of the doctor.

“Nigerian Medical Association, Kaduna state branch regrets to announce the death of one of her members, Dr Chinelo Megafu Nwando which sad event took place yesterday (Monday).

“She worked at St. Gerard’s Hospital, Kakuri and was a dedicated staff. May her soul rest peacefully and may her entire family be comforted,” the message read.
