After nine months of grounding academic and commercial activities at the nation’s universities, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it has suspended the action.

The union announced the development at a news conference on Wednesday morning in Abuja.

ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, who led other National Executive Committee of the union to the news conference, said the suspension takes immediate effect.

Ogunyemi said the decision followed the resolution of National Executive Council at its earlier meeting.
