Ailing septuagenarian dies aboard Abuja-bound Air Peace plane

The death of a septuagenarian onboard an Air Peace flight on Calabar to Abuja route has been announced.
Just as the plane was landing in Abuja it was discoverd that the passenger had died as he has lost his pulse.
“On arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, he had no pulse again,” a Health Official said.

 

The 72-year-old, who was reported to be on medication for an undisclosed ailment, was going to Abuja for a medical examination.

It was learnt that the deceased was accompanied to the airport by his daughter and cleared by Port Health Officials at the Calabar airport before boarding.
His death has been confirmed by a top official of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), saying: “You have to get the details from the aircraft. He did not die on the terminal, he died on the aircraft.”
Also speaking, the spokesman for Air Peace, Mr Stanley Olisa,  said: “Yes, I can confirm it. He was certified fit to fly. He was a 72-year-old man. He was accompanied by his daughter. He was given medical clearance. It is not a COVID-19 related case.
“He was going to Abuja for a check-up. He was on medication. The aircraft was decontaminated immediately.”
