The Lagos State Government says it is spending N1 million daily on a coronavirus patient in all its isolation centres.
It includes cost of feeding, accommodation, the services provided by the healthcare givers among others, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said at a news conference at Alausa, Ikeja.
“We have spent between N100,000 and N1million daily to treat a coronavirus patient across our isolation centres,” he said.
Abayomi said with Lagos as the epic centre of the pandemic, 60 percent of the positive COVID-19 cases in the state were from five local councils of Eti-Osa, Alimosho, Kosofe, Ikeja, and Oshodi-Isolo.
The commissioner strongly appealed to the people to comply with the guidelines given by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to curb the spread of the pandemic.
