Senate President Ahmad Lawan, has unveiled his COVID-19 intervention by
providing Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to some hospitals and other items for his constituents in Yobe State.
Other items provided include infrared thermometers, disinfectants, spraying machines, hand sanitizers, face masks, hand gloves and boots.
Residents in the six local government areas of Yobe North Senatorial District —
Bade, Nguru, Jakusko, Yusufari, Karasuwa, and Machina — benefited from the intervention.
Lawan said gesture was aimed at providing relief to his constituents, who are affected by the current lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
He said the distribution of the palliatives which commenced in the first phase on 28 April, would be concluded with the third phase on May 21 ahead of the Ramadan celebrations.
In the first and second phases, seven trucks of rice, ten trucks of sugar, four trucks of millet, and three thousand (3000) cartons of turkey oil among other consumables and food items were distributed.
