Government College Ughelli alumni plans entrepreneurship training for 5 Lagos schools

In the spirit of inspiring the next generation and giving something back, the Lagos Branch of Government College Ughelli Old Boys’ Association (GCUOBA) is holding its second edition of Inspiring Next Generation ING) Symposium on Friday November 9, 2018 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island Lagos.

Themed: “Connecting education and enterprise: Options that work,” the event targets 28 students and their seven teachers from six schools for mentoring by role models. Visiting from Government College Ughelli are eight selected creative students and their two teachers. Participating from five Lagos schools are May Day College Surulere, Eva Adelaja Secondary School Bariga, Government College Ikoyi, Lagos State Model School Badore and Dolphin Senior High School.

Confirmed to speak at this year’s event are iconic fashion trail-blazer, Mudiaga Enajemo of the MUDI brand, Spencer Onosode, CEO of Pillar Oil, who are both old boys of GCU and serial entrepreneur Ronke Onadeko.

“The idea, according to the chairman of the organising committee, Victor Eroomosele “is to fire-up young minds to get focused early as they get inspired by role models and entrepreneurial leaders. Simultaneously, we in our collaboration with 2020 YERI, able to select the most creative students to interact with each other. For Lagos Branch of GCU OBA, it is also a form of impactful community relations.”

The event is open to the general public and would be attended by many distinguished old boys of Government College Ughelli.
