Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, admitted Thursday that things are still tough but it is getting easier after some chieftains broke away from the party to form the Reformed APC (RAPC).

“Of course, I am worried but it is something the party will handle, Yari said.

“You know that with the approach of election, you will expect this kind of thing. You will expect crisis left, right and center, especially in a party with an overwhelming majority because of political interest.”

Yari who doubles as chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, told State House Correspondents that there was no panic over the emergence of the faction, saying “The most important thing is that with the emergence of new leadership everything will be resolved. So therefore, no panic.”

” Though I am one of the pillars of APC, if I comment on that I won’t be fair to the leadership of the party. So the party will handle that.

The rAPC, comprising aggrieved members of the APC, had a day earlier unfolded its new national executive, having complained severally of their marginalisation and persecution by the leadership of the party.

The chairman of the new rAPC is Alhaji Buba Galadima, a one-time ally of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Yari has expressed confidence in the new leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC) to revolve the issue that led to the major pull out by a faction of the party.
