Actor and producer Timini Egbuson has opened up about the difficulty of grieving his father, Samuel Egbuson, while fulfilling demanding work commitments.

Speaking with Pulse NG, Timini labeled this period the toughest of his life, admitting the strain of “showing up” for the public while processing a major personal loss.

Though his father had been ill, Timini noted that the family was optimistic about his health.

The sudden passing arrived at a bittersweet moment—just as the actor was gearing up for a busy new year—leaving him to navigate the “hardest thing” he has ever faced in the spotlight.

“My dad was sick, but we honestly thought he would be fine and come around,” Timini said.

“I was really looking forward to 2026 with great expectations, especially because my movie had just been released.”

He explained that the sudden death of his father on the very first day of the year shattered those plans completely.

“Losing my dad on the first day of the new year ruined everything I had planned,” he said.

“It was a kind of grief I had never felt before. It was strange, confusing, and very heavy.”

Timini pointed out that what made the loss even harder was the reality that he had to continue promoting his film despite his emotional state.

He described being forced to wear a smile, grant interviews and make public appearances while privately falling apart.

“I still had to promote my movie, make appearances and act normal, even while I was grieving badly,” he said.

“That was the hardest thing for me — pretending I was okay when I really wasn’t.”

The actor first announced his father’s death in early January via Instagram, sharing a short but poignant message that captured both his pain and resolve.

“Didn’t think I’ll start the year saying this… Rest in peace, Dad. So much left unsaid, but I’ll keep making you proud,” he wrote.
