Starting September 1, 2025, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) will implement a significant increase in passport fees.

The new costs are ₦100,000 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and ₦200,000 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity.

This unexpected price hike has shocked many Nigerians, leaving them concerned about the impact on their travel plans.

According to the NIS, the increment aims to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

The Service emphasized that the fee increase is essential to offset rising production and issuance costs, ensuring the process remains sustainable while upholding security and quality standards demanded globally.
