FG Releases N5.12bln Pension Arrears for 90,689 Retirees

A cheering news for retirees as the Federal Government allocated N5.12 billion to settle pension arrears owed to 90,689 beneficiaries of the Defined Benefit Scheme under the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

According to PTAD’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Olugbenga Ajayi in a statement on Monday, the disbursement has been successfully completed, highlighting the agency’s dedication to the welfare of pensioners.

The payment breakdown shows that “8,626 pensioners from the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Prisons Pension Department (CIPPD) received N276,032,000 for one month of arrears.

“Additionally, 9,681 pensioners from the Police Pension Department received N619,584,000 for two months of arrears, while 12,773 pensioners from the Civil Service Pension Department received
N408,736,000 for one month of arrears.

“Furthermore, 59,609 pensioners from the Parastatals Pension Department received N3,814,976,000 for two months of arrears.”

Ajayi said the payment aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, aimed at ensuring pensioners receive their due entitlements without delay.
