Bayelsa Maintains Lead, Delta Surges to Second Position at Gateway Games

LBayelsa State is still dominating the 22nd National Sports Festival, the Gateway Games, in Ogun State.

As of Day 4, they are holding strong at the top of the medals table.

The Bayelsa team has racked up an impressive 16 Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals’

Persecondnews reports that the defending champions, Delta State, have made a significant leap, moving up to second spot with 10 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals, and 6 Bronze medals.

Osun State occupies third position with 6 Gold and 1 Silver, closely followed by Rivers State in fourth place with 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

Lagos State completes the top five in fifth position with 4 Gold, 7 Silver, and 10 Bronze while Oyo State is in sixth place with 4 Gold, 2 Silver and 6 Bronze.

Akwa Ibom is in seventh place with 4 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal, while Plateau occupies eighth position with 3 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals, and 6 Bronze medals.

While Bayelsa leads, Cross River sits in ninth place with a respectable showing of 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal.

Just behind them, rounding out the top ten, is Edo State, which has secured 2 Gold, 15 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals.

As of Day 4, a total of 199 medals have been awarded across all events: 61 Gold, 61 Silver, and 77 Bronze.
