The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC Ltd) has said beyond the three bodies found in the October 24 ill-fated helicopter in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, operated by East Winds Aviation, no other bodies have been recovered.
A statement released on Sunday by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Olufemi Soneye, said the company further noted that intensified search and rescue operations for the remaining bodies, in collaboration with relevant authorities, are still ongoing.
“Once again, our hearts and prayers are with family members of this unfortunate incident,” the statement said.
Persecondnews recalls that the rotocraft with registration no. 5N-BQG, operated by East Winds Aviation was engaged by the oil company and had six passengers and two crew members on board.
The helicopter lost contact around 11:22 am on October 24, shortly after taking off from Port Harcourt NAF Base en route to the FPSO facility– NUIMS ANTAN.
