Gunmen storm palace, abduct, kill traditional ruler in Bauchi

The traditional ruler's corpse was found dumped close to the village in the early hours of Sunday morning, March 17, after spending a day in captivity.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped and killed the traditional ruler of Riruwai village in Lame District, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi.

On Friday night, March 15, 2024, the gunmen allegedly abducted the traditional ruler from his palace after firing sporadically to frighten the locals.

According to reports, the abductors made no attempt to contact any of the family members of the late Badamasi for ransom, thereby leaving his family and villagers worried.

The traditional ruler’s corpse was found dumped close to the village in the early hours of Sunday morning, March 17, after spending a day in captivity.

He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
