Tinubu Arrives Riyadh Ahead of Saudi – Africa Summit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Saudi-Africa Summit scheduled to start on November 10.

President Tinubu departed Abuja for Riyadh on Thursday with the intention to woo more foreign direct investment and expand business partnership to key into the opportunities in Nigeria that are not obtainable anywhere.

Discussions at the first Saudi-Africa Summit, according to the Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, will centre on supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination, and addressing regional security threats.

It will also facilitate economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, which was expected to boost cross-sectoral investment cooperation, Ngelale said.

Those accompanying the President on the trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun.

Others are the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the Director- General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Arabi.

Persecond News reports that the volume of trade between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria has skyrocketed to over N481 billion.
